The Park XE7 we have been writing about is listed. It is also on LabX, which is where most of the serious traffic for an instrument like this comes from.
Here is exactly what it is, and exactly what it is not.

The software and the registration are the reason this listing exists at this price rather than a scrap price. Most used AFMs on the market arrive as orphaned hardware with no license path. This one does not. We covered why that matters in the software gate.
What it is not
It has not been powered on. We are selling it as a complete, registered, software-included system, not as a bench-certified working instrument. If we had powered it up and confirmed the controller, this would be priced considerably higher, and we would say so.
There is no manufacturer warranty. The free scheduled maintenance period lapsed in 2022. A buyer arranges support with Park Systems directly, and Park’s US support team is easy to reach.
It has cosmetic wear. Scuffs on the cabinet. It is a lab instrument that was used in a lab.
I would rather lose a sale to this paragraph than have somebody open a crate and find out I had been optimistic.
Who this is for
A research group or R&D lab that needs surface characterization at nanometer scale and does not have seventy thousand dollars for a new system. It was purchased new at the end of 2020 and installed in mid 2021, so this is not an ancient instrument.
If your group has the ability to power up and evaluate a system yourselves, the discount here is substantial, and the usual reason to be afraid of a used AFM has been removed.

It is a large, heavy, vibration sensitive instrument and it will be crated properly. We are in Philadelphia. Freight, or collection in person by arrangement.
